About Marie & Her Staff Marie France Simon is Haitian, and she previously lived in Chicago for 7 years before moving back to Haiti. She attended Loop College for 4 years while living there. Marie took business courses while she was in Chicago. When she came back to Haiti she also got a license in accounting and nursing. She has been processing adoptions for 5 years. She successfully placed 5 children in their forever families in her 2nd year. By the end of her 3rd year, 2006, 6 more children will have gone home to their new families, with several more files in earlier stages of the process. Marie is currently placing children in families that reside in the U.S. and other countries. A few of the states and countries that the adoptive families live in are France, Florida, California, New York, and Pennsylvania. Some of the children in process are going to California, Maine, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Utah, Oregon, and 3 different cities in France. Marie's desire to help the children of Haiti comes from her own experience as an adoptive mom. She has 1 biological child and 3 adopted children. Her two youngest, who are 6 and 14, love to play with the orphanage kids and help out with their care. She says that she loves each of the children like her own, and adoptive parents who have visited her at the orphanage can attest to that. Marie also has several people that come to help care for the children. Violette (or Madame Vio as she is known to the kids), is her right hand nanny, and has been with her for a very long time. Marie feels it is very important for the adoptive families to stay in touch with her, and prefers to get something such as pictures at least once a year, so she knows how the kids are doing and can inform the birthparents. Marie loves to swim and watch movies, but she doesn’t like to go out too much. She prefers to stay home. She feels more comfortable to stay with the children, so she knows what’s going on with them at all times.
